Marlow and High Wycombe Chiropractors

Dr. Graeme Brooks, Chiropractor

Graeme’s involvement in chiropractic started early on in life when he was diagnosed with a serious debilitating illness at the age of 19. “The consultant informed me that I could be in a wheelchair by age 35″. After many years of conventional medicine he eventually went to chiropractor, Dr. Steve Carpenter, and several years later he became a chiropractor himself. “Steve changed my life. After seven years of constant pain, he crunched and cracked me back to health.”

Graeme trained at the world famous Anglo-European College of Chiropractic obtaining a Masters of Science in Chiropractic. After graduation he practised in Oxford, taking over from one of the most respected chiropractors in the country on his retirement. In 2004,

Graeme left the clinic to set up practice in Marlow. Graeme relishes a challenge. He has a particular interest in resolving complex cases presented by all members of the public young and old alike. Additionally, he continues to work alongside many top flight sportsmen and sportswomen who place very high demands on their bodies.

Dr. Kathryn Adams, Chiropractor

Dr. Kathryn AdamsKathryn has been in private practice since 2003 having graduated with a Master of Chiropractic from the University of Surrey, in which she obtained a distinction.

Kathryn was introduced to Chiropractic care in her early 20s when working as a clinical research scientist in the pharmaceutical industry and found that lifting hand luggage, packed with clinical data left her with constant low back pain.

The chiropractic care was gentle and worked quickly and effectively for her. Kathryn was so impressed with the treatment that she received; she halted her career path in pharmaceutical research and retrained as a Chiropractor. She has never looked back and receives instant job satisfaction in seeing the majority of her patients, from babies to the elderly, respond well to the individual treatment that Chiropractic care offers.

Kathryn is married and has two children. Throughout both her pregnancies she received Chiropractic care. She especially enjoys treating families and has a special interest in paediatrics and musculoskeletal care of the pelvic girdle during pregnancy, using Sacro Occipital techniques.

Kathryn has a special interest in Western Medical Acupuncture and is a member of the British Medical Acupuncture Society. She is able combine chiropractic treatment with acupuncture techniques. Within acupuncture, she has training in the management of migraine headache, women’s health and Palliative care.

Kathryn has co-published a paper (2006) looking at foot posture and its possible links to low back pain.

She ran her own clinic in the city of Reading, Abbey Chiropractic Clinic, since 2011 and is now very happy to have joined Graeme Brooks in Marlow which is close to her home in Bourne End.
